Education Management - The Office of Educational Management Services provides technical assistance and oversight regarding the management of New York State school districts and BOCES and their use of education resources. Specific areas of responsibility include district management services, pupil transportation, BOCES (all aspects), school district organization, contracts for excellence, district budget data and regents state aid proposal development.Ìý The office provides support for legislative and regulatory initiatives as well as guidance on required reporting and timelines (property tax cap, budget notice, tax freeze, administrative salary disclosure, etc.).
Scope of Responsibility - Focus on supporting websites/webpages for the Pupil Transportation Unit and Contracts for Excellence.
The primary focus will be on utilizing our current new web platform to design and develop a user-friendly website for several of our program areas. The areas currently have web content that will need to be reviewed, updated, and reformatted.Ìý Understanding web analytics and accessibility, as well as developing and organizing each website in a manner that supports the end user, will be a priority.Ìý Specific training on Drupal will be provided to the intern to support their learning.Ìý Additional duties will include a well-rounded understanding of the office environment with day-to-day operations.Ìý
Professional experience made available to the intern will be website design and creation, along with a well-rounded understanding of the office environment with day-to-day operations and then this experience will lead to the intern being able to have the experience working in NYS service.
Website creation, Drupal platform is utilized at С槼ºÖ±²¥, Accessibility of documents, Degree in IT or similar (website design/creation), possibly educational background which would include use of Excel, Word, Outlook and Power point.
Interns may work up to 20 hours each week between 8a-5p. Schedules will be made directly with the supervisor.
This is an unpaid position. We are happy to work with student to help them earn academic credit for their internship with our Department
